Almost every major metropolis around the world has a metro system or subway that tries to improve their massive transportation issues. So it is very nice to see how some metro systems look from a different perspective.
How they look? Well just like a drawing made by a toddler.

So I guess everything that happened months ago with the Referendum is starting to make sense.
I just hope the destiny of that guy (HChF) follows that of Saddam.
I just do not why? But tonight I am missing Venezuela. Not my hometown, not my friends, not the weather, I just miss a state of mind, a state of mind called Venezuela.
I feel like a junkie that need a fix of his "drug du jour", only for a minute, just a small dose. There is no explanation, there is no substitute, I need the smell, the colors, I need the attitude and the whole experience of walking and breathing in Venezuela.
Why I feel like this? Why today? I don't have an answer, but I actually I do have many questions.
Questions that I will keep to myself because sadly as of today there is not a living person that could answer them, questions related to the fate of a nation and an entire generation (gen X) of Venezuelans.
I hope I can live to tell my grandchildren why in the past I left their country (Venezuela) in order to avoid living under some experiment an experiment gone bad.
It is amazing that the kids in the picture are now what they are. The most powerful rock band in the planet.
I was having my regular round of web browsing when I found this particular blog and I started to think... what could happen if the neo dictatorship of the Venezuelan regime decides that web content should be filtered, centralized and censored?. Will they go to a blogger house and arrest him? Will they start to control the ISP's and filter the Internet? Will they control who is "eligible" to have internet access?
All of this arises even more when I read that in the 21st. century the Venezuelan government announces the creation of a state operated Telecommunications company aimed to provide fixed telephone and Internet access. Is this the 1st. step of a macro plan to build infrastructure and in the future rule out private owned telecommunications companies by decree? Is this a way to fortify the power and involvement of the state in everyday life?
This is the only logic I find to this initiative. Well I guess I find a second one.
Since the government used a private telecom's network to connect all the voting machines during the last referendum and some evidence is being presented that there was two way communication between the data center and the machines making it very possible to changes in the software and final results. Don't you think it would be easier if you could have control over the whole process and rig an election freely without any private party questioning what kind of data goes through your network?.
What the bloggers in Iran are living is frightening, I hope we all learn from their experiences.
After reading opinion articles from Venezuelan "intellectuals", I am concluding that the in your face fraud truly disarmed the opposition. They even are looking (an believing) logical explanations on why maybe there was no fraud.
The fact is that we are dealing with a group of people that killed in the past in order to gain and maintain power. Do you really think that people that their entire lives have been involved creating conspiracy plots to overthrow elected governments are now the greatest democrats? People that are directly engaged with Mr. Fidel Castro are now going to bring you clean and shine elections? A group of people that in 6 years have amassed billions of dollars managing the largest corruption scheme for a country in Latin America are not going to "invest" in rigging an election electronically?
Is just plain stupid.

So you still think there was no fraud? So you think e-voting is safe. Just take a look at this article, and find out what the US is facing regarding this method.
I know that the fraud evidence will surface, it is just a matter of time.
Is is just me or it seems that Daniela Larreal has been competing at every olympic game of the modern era...and sadly without any honor!!

I am waking up... I thought I had politics figured out. As the hours pass by I realize freedom is just a word, and democracy just letters.
The thing that gets me the most is the fact that Chavez was able to maintain acceptance levels in Venezuela above 35% before going into the Referedum. That simple thing help raise the doubts that a fraud ever existed. I know the fraud did happened, that I know for sure.
I see it very difficult that in the next election (2006) a person can defeat Hugo Chavez. If with an election of a YES or a NO the opposition was not able to prevent a flagrant abuse of power and manipulation of the voting machines and win straight and square, how they will do it with a candidate that is exposed to direct attacks from the government?
As of today I do not see a leader that can challenge Mr. Chavez's charisma and charm with the popular masses. I know that person exist, and is somewhere in Venezuela right know, his turn to be in the spotlight is yet to be seen.
This is by any account the 1st. public thing that Chavez manages that actually works, a high tech coup d'etat.
I just arrived from Houston. I voted to recall Mr. Hugo Chavez from the Venezuelan Presidency.
It was quite a surprise. The last time they held an election at the Venezuelan consulate in Houston there were around 300 voters. Today the number raised to around 2.5K voters!!!. Quite a turnaround.
The tendency is to almost 90 to 10 in favor of revoking the mandate to the former paratrooper that destroyed the Venezuelan way of life in no less than 6 years in power.
Whatever today's outcome you can tell there is a profound change in the minds of the average venezuelan, this country is not going to be the same starting tomorrow.

There is no question that Apple's IPod is king in the mobile digital music business. I compare it's success to that of the SONY walkman in the early 80's.
But have you ever stopped and think about how the average gen X'er used to listen to music on the go?. Remember the tape? or Cassette?. That was our mean of storage that allowed us to build our 1st. music collections.
Well how about comparing the cassette with the actual IPod?
Some guys took that ardous task to run a head to head comparison. The goal?...to see which one is a better mean for music storage.

It has been a month since I started working for the other big blue. One of the things I hate is that I can not post from work. I can see my blog, but can't go ahead an login into Blogger. The company labeled Blogger as a "Chat"web site. Sad.
The hotel that I am using is very decent but so far does not have high speed internet, so I opened a AOL account to get 50 days of free access. Sadly the dial up connection gets disconnected every 15 to 20 minutes or so...so it is very painful, is like living in 1998 all over again.
Let me tell you, using dial up has prevented me for actually posting. I am thinking about finally buy one Wi-Fi card for my laptop and visit a Starbucks that is not that far from the Hotel.
On the weekends I have to say, I am not in the mood to post, I rather sleep a lot in MY BED and enjoy some quality time with MY COUCH.
So without a doubt my life is completely different, I guess my new routines are just being created, I will get broadband pretty soon.

What an accomplishment in every cinematic sense. Great, great story, tasteful and timely humor, outrageous FX's, seamless CGI, and on top of it...Kirsten Dunst. What else could I ask for.
The big ending blew me away, since I was not expecting the final twist at all.
Sam Raimi, has done a masterpiece, one to be used as a benchmark for future film makers.
